I would say that if you put a betta fish (male or female) in a community pool with other fish, it works better if you add other fish before you add the betta. Instead of keeping one male and one female, some people choose to keep one male in a sorority with another female. On the negative side, when it comes to how they cope with other species there really is no way to know until you try. If you put the male and female in a “communal pool” with other fish, it would probably work better if you added other fish before you add them.
If you keep male and female Betta fish together, there is of course the possibility that they will multiply, whether you like it or not. Remember that you should avoid fish with pliers when it comes to male Betta in a communal pool because they find that the long flowing fins of the male Bota are too resistant. For fish and pet lovers, there is a high likelihood that the male will kill the female if you decide to keep the two fish in the same tank and end up killing one of them.
The number of betas that can be kept in the same aquarium depends on the sex of the betta. As mentioned above, if the female is kept with the male in a well-placed aquarium in the perfect tank, the mating will not be a male mating, as the males struggle due to their territorial nature. When a male is kept in an aquarium with another male who is fighting, one of the most common names is the Siamese fighting fish.
Betta fish are known to be aggressive and the males are territorial and should be kept in separate tanks. If a female Betta lives with a male Betta and fights with other males in her home, her home should be in a community aquarium containing other fish species.
If you plan to keep a single male or female Betta fish, make sure the tank is not too big and has a lot of length (40 gallons or more). Betta are not school fish, so make sure a 10 gallon tank has lots of dense plantings and hiding places so they can take up space and avoid each other if they want to. If you have a 1-15 gallon tank, you can keep 3-4 females and add a male Betta.
Due to the fact that they are more aggressive than male Betta – fishes, female Betta require sometimes slightly less space than their male counterparts, and some pet stores sell pre-made Betta – ranges to help you get started.
In order to remove the Betta fish if they do not behave properly, a fish tank must be present. If the dispute turns into a fight, you will probably have to remove a new fish from your female Betta tank and move it to a second tank.
